Apple’s new iPad Pro is yet another exciting development by the technology behemoth. With our iOS developers constantly chomping at the bit to get their hands on each new Apple device, they are excited to strategize updates to cater to the new iPad Pro device composition.
It is hard to miss the fact that Apple seems to be following in the footsteps of other tech companies when it comes to production of a variety of devices (enter the plethora of Android devices). Although we’re happy to have new and improved products and operating systems and various screen sizes, Apple’s additions could produce challenges in the near future. Operating systems across various Apple products has been fairly consistent, however the new Apple Watch has added watchOS and the updates that have and will follow.
The fact that Evernote chose to forego an update of their Apple Watch app to watchOS2 in favor of development of an iPad Pro app, catering to the new stylus, Apple Pencil, is just one example of the issues developers will confront when deciding how best to present their applications to consumers.
As operating systems mount up – iOS, OS X, tvOS, watchOS – we’ll just have to test the waters to see what floats. Luckily, Connect Think has experienced Apple developers who are skilled in evaluating client needs and producing high quality, properly functioning apps crossing all platforms.
